When my wife wanted a dog — through little hints here and there — I picked up on it pretty quickly. So I started searching. And within about an hour I was completely overwhelmed. Every site was either an "Add Your Dog to Cart" checkout page, a Craigslist post that felt like a scam, or something in between. I spent hours weeding through the noise until I finally found our pup, Vilma. She changed everything for us.
Three or four years later, Vilma was pregnant. We asked family, we asked friends — and when we still had puppies to place, I went back to the internet to figure out where people even *advertise* puppies. Turns out that side of it was even worse. Glorified classifieds pages. No transparency. No relationship.

I highly recommend Ethical Frenchie! My puppy’s medical record was completely documented and provided to me. I know French bulldogs, and I knew at first glance this was my puppy was impeccably bred. Her proportions, her jet black coat, that face! I would definitely buy again from Ethical Frenchie. In the past I made the mistake of using an online broker through PuppySp*t.com. Please use common sense and only work with an actual breeder who you can talk to and who communicates with you about everything. Trust is a big part of getting a puppy, even more so, (much much more so), when it comes to a French bulldog. Yes — we personally deliver to Raleigh and the entire Triangle area (Durham, Chapel Hill). Your puppy travels in-cabin with us into RDU Airport — we hand you your puppy ourselves at arrival. No third parties. We also welcome Raleigh families to visit and pick up in person at either our New York City or Chicago location. Learn more about delivery.
Absolutely. We have family homes in both New York City and Chicago — you’re welcome to visit whichever location your puppy is at. From Raleigh, NYC is about a 1.5-hour direct flight from RDU. If you can’t make the trip, we’re happy to FaceTime or video call so you can meet your puppy and see the parents before making a decision. We never want you to feel like you’re buying sight unseen.
French Bulldogs thrive in Raleigh — whether you’re in a downtown apartment, a house near NC State, or out in the suburbs. They don’t need a big yard and they’re happy just being with their family. Raleigh’s mild winters are great for Frenchies, but summer heat and humidity are a concern — keep outdoor time moderate during the hottest months and always have water and shade available. Raleigh’s growing dog-friendly culture (breweries, parks, greenways) makes it a perfect city for a Frenchie companion.
