How it all began

It Started with Vilma

When my wife wanted a dog — through little hints here and there — I picked up on it pretty quickly. So I started searching. And within about an hour I was completely overwhelmed. Every site was either an "Add Your Dog to Cart" checkout page, a Craigslist post that felt like a scam, or something in between. I spent hours weeding through the noise until I finally found our pup, Vilma. She changed everything for us. Three or four years later, Vilma was pregnant. We asked family, we asked friends — and when we still had puppies to place, I went back to the internet to figure out where people even *advertise* puppies. Turns out that side of it was even worse. Glorified classifieds pages. No transparency. No relationship.
"There has to be an easier, trusted, seamless process for this."
That thought became Ethical Frenchie.

What We Actually Do Differently

As we started placing more puppies with more families, one thing became non-negotiable: every single person was going to get the experience I wished I'd had as a buyer. That means a transparent, white-glove process — photos and videos of your puppy as they grow, a real relationship with the people raising them, and zero anxiety from start to finish. We don't do shopping carts. We do FaceTime calls so you can meet your puppy and the person behind it. We hand-deliver every dog ourselves — the person you talk to is the person who shows up at your door. And we stay in touch long after. Diet questions at 2 AM? Training issues at month three? We're a text away. That's not a marketing line — ask any of [our families](/happy-tails/).

10+ Years In, Still Refining

What you're looking at now is the result of over a decade of refining this experience, year after year. Better health testing. Better socialization protocols. Better communication. Every litter we learn something, and every family we place a puppy with teaches us how to do this even better. This is still a family-and-friends operation. It's still personal. And we still get excited every single time one of our puppies goes home with the right family. [See where they've ended up →](/happy-tails/)

I highly recommend Ethical Frenchie! My puppy’s medical record was completely documented and provided to me. I know French bulldogs, and I knew at first glance this was my puppy was impeccably bred. Her proportions, her jet black coat, that face! I would definitely buy again from Ethical Frenchie. In the past I made the mistake of using an online broker through PuppySp*t.com. Please use common sense and only work with an actual breeder who you can talk to and who communicates with you about everything. Trust is a big part of getting a puppy, even more so, (much much more so), when it comes to a French bulldog. I trust Ethical Frenchie 100% and feel so blessed to have a healthy baby girl named Mabel!

I got both of my French Bulldogs from Ethical Frenchies— (one is now 6 years old) and (the other is now 3 months old)—and they’ve both been absolutely amazing. Healthy, happy, and such a joy to have. Renee and James make the process so simple, provide tons of helpful resources, and truly care about their pups. Couldn’t recommend them more!

Ethical Frenchie is truly the best! Working with them has been such a pleasure. I worked specifically with Renee and she was beyond helpful. She provided me with plenty of information as a first time dog owner and helpful tips to keep my frenchie as healthy as possible. Renee hand delievered our frenchie boy which was so convenient and helpful. Even after 2 years she regularly checks in to see how our boy is doing. We had such an amazing experience that my mom ended up purchasing a frenchie girl. Now our two frenchies are best buds and we couldn’t be happier with our fluffy family members!

Had the best possible experience working with this company; as it was my first dog they guided me and educated me every step of the way from types of food, general pet care, and behaviors and development! My Benny has been super healthy since day 1 and has a sweet and playful temperament with other dogs and my young family members. I still keep in touch with the breeders on how he is doing to this day! Couldn't recommend them more.
